The 1st India Brick & Roof Tile Exhibition

In India’s brick and roof tile sector, a drive for greater mechanisation is inevitable, which means more demand for machinery and technology that Western companies have specialised in. Key areas in improving production technology are seen as more energy-efficient kilns and the use of other materials like fly ash or waste to mix with clay.

Today, the situation is ripe for technological change to come - from clay extraction, preparation, shaping, drying, firing and material handling - in all six phases of brick production change will come. Changes will start with shaping and clay preparation and maybe drying, with firing to follow.

India is known to be the second largest producer of bricks after China with an estimated production of almost 150 billion bricks. The figure remains an estimate as India's brick industry is dominated by what's called the 'unorganised' sector - large numbers of small-scale family owned units operating as a cottage industry in rural and semi-urban areas. The country is believed to have over 100,000 brick kilns of varying sizes.

It is on this basis that the inaugural Indian Brick and Roof Tile Exhibition (IBART, www.india-ibart.com) is taking place on 2-4 March, 2010 in Gujarat.

The fact that the construction sector remains so buoyant in India means that the time has come to proceed with a massive upgrade in the technical side of the country’s brick and roof tile manufacture. IBART will provide the perfect platform for the World’s leading suppliers of technology to the sector to present their know-how. India is, without doubt, hungry for energy saving, efficiency-improving techniques, and this is a great chance for suppliers to be in at the start.

As a leading supplier of technology to this industry, IBART 2010 can provide you with an excellent showcase. Our flexible exhibition space options, and high profile marketing campaign, mean that you will benefit from the most established exhibitions group operating ceramic-related shows in India.
